Nowadays, the importance of real time condition monitoring and control for wind turbine (WT) is increasing because WTs are installed on remote site such as mountains and offshore. In this paper, we implement a monitoring and control system for a small-scale wind turbine. The monitoring and control system consists of data collection units, control unit and coordinator. The data collection units collect data from various sensors: temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind direction, wind speed and vibration. And the data collection units transmit sensing data to a coordinator. A ZigBee is used to communicate between a coordinator and data collection units. The coordinator is also communicate with PC and smart device through RS232 and Bluetooth, respectively. The GUI is implemented based on Android and LabVIEW to show the sensing data. The GUI based on LabVIEW can control the wind turbine direction using control unit.
Recently, the interest in optical network with multifiber link is continuing to rise since the network traffic has been growing exponentially. However, growing traffic in network leads to increasing the energy consumption of the network equipment. In this paper, we propose a dynamic routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) algorithm based on V-like cost function and layered graph to improve energy efficiency in IP over WDM network with multifiber link. The V-like cost function is used to decide the fiber cost according to the number of used wavelengths. The layered graph with multifiber link is used to select the energy efficient route and wavelength. The proposed RWA algorithm is compared and analyzed with conventional algorithm in view of average power consumption and blocking probability through OPNET modeler.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
