This prospective, single-center series with WEB devices used in 39 patients during 3.5 years confirms data from previous multicenter studies. Treatment can be accomplished with good safety and efficacy, with a high rate of adequate occlusion. Anatomic results were not worse in case of WEB shape modification.
We report a large series providing clinical, imaging, therapeutic, and prognostic features of adult patients treated for an intracerebral anaplastic GGG. Our results show that pathological diagnosis is difficult, that survivals are only slightly better than for glioblastomas, and that complete surgical resection followed with adjuvant chemoradiotherapy offers longer survival.
This study did not find more neurological complications than in previous neurointerventional reports using DAPT with aspirin + ticagrelor or aspirin + clopidogrel. Overall number of neurological complications was lower when a lower dose of heparin was administered. Neurovascular studies comparing clopidogrel to ticagrelor and different doses of heparin are necessary to demonstrate which association is more efficient with lower complication rates.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
