Uterine leiomyosarcoma is a rare uterine malignancy that arises from the smooth muscles of uterine wall. It accounts for only 1-2% of uterine malignancies. We report a case of a 60-year-old female who presented with postmenopausal bleeding and was diagnosed later to be a case of leiomyosarcoma of uterus. The diagnosis of leiomyosarcoma is made by histopathological examination, and surgery is the only treatment. The prognosis for female with uterine sarcoma primarily depends on the extent of disease at the time of diagnosis and the mitotic index.
Fetal heart is the most overlooked part in every routine anomaly scan. We conclude that fetal echocardiography should be an integral part of every second trimester anomaly scan for all pregnant females irrespective of their risk factors. The associated ECAs are another factor that causes increased mortality both in antenatal and neonatal life, again warranting an early fetal echo.
Background: Anaemia is the commonest medical disorder in pregnancy and severe anaemia is associated with poor maternal and perinatal outcome.Methods: The study was done to analyse the characteristics of hospitalized pregnant women with severe anaemia (Haemoglobin < 7gms %) at the time of delivery and to find out maternal outcome. It was a prospective study done at Rajindra hospital, Patiala, Punjab, India over a period of one year from February 2016 to January 2017.Results: Results were analysed; out of 3784 deliveries 210 (5.54%) cases were severely anaemic at the time of delivery. Out of 210 women with severe anaemia 184(87.6%) patients belonged to low socioeconomic category, 177 (84.2%) were unbooked cases, 152 (72.4%) cases from rural area and 119 (57.6%) cases were multi gravidas. The maternal complications were Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia (16.1%), intercurrent infections (3%), abruptio placentae (3.3%), heart failure (1.4%), preterm labours (42.8%), intrauterine deaths (10.9%) and postpartum haemorrhage (10.4%).Conclusions: Severe anaemia during pregnancy is associated with maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality so effective preventive measures in the form of regular antenatal check-ups and iron supplementation will prevent complications of anaemia in pregnant women.
The main objective of the method is to provide the interesting part of the medical image on which different treatements are to be implemented. In medical image when some portion of image is to be selected, then ROI is selected with the help of Discrete Cosine Transform. It is used with the ROI technique to compress the medical image to remove the blocking effect. The different filters will be applied to the images. The aim of this method is to analyze the results using MATLAB software and calculate various parameters such as CR, entropy, bits per pixel, PSNR, MSE, to compress the ROI part of the color images without losing any contents of the images and to maintain the storage memory space. Imaging helps a lot to represent the internal problem of body in visual manner. Various medical diagnosing techniques are using digital images of human body as the deciding factors for next medical treatment. The new techniques are enhanced to compress the medical image so that the problems encountered in the previous study can be solved.
