The objectives of this study were twofold. The first was to investigate the compressive and flexural behaviors of small-sized concrete specimens strengthened with sprayed fiber reinforced polymer (SFRP), considering various fiber lengths, fiber volumes, and concrete strengths. The second was to evaluate the strengthening effects of SFRP on the flexural behaviors of largesized reinforced concrete beams. U-shaped strips and shear keys were applied to the test specimens to improve the interfacial bond resistance between the concrete surface and SFRP. POLYM. COMPOS., 36:722-730, 2015.
Several sets of static and impact load tests are conducted to estimate the effects of using steel fibre and shear reinforcement on static and impact load resistances. Weights are dropped from a certain height to apply impact loads to the specimens. The performances of all the specimens are evaluated by comparing their load–deflection curves, crack patterns, or maximum numbers of drops before the tests were stopped. Moreover, the partial placement of fibre-reinforced concrete is also used to find ways to manufacture cost-effective concrete members, because fibre-reinforced concrete is mostly more expensive than normal concrete.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
