T his chapter provides guidance on using the Rorschach Performance Assessment System (R-PAS; Meyer et al., 2011) in the assessment of bipolar disorders. It is important to note that neither R-PAS nor self-report questionnaires are designed to make formal Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) or International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) diagnoses. However, as described in what follows, R-PAS data can aid diagnosis by informing the decision process in a multimethod assessment.
