Traumatic brain injury (TBI) constitutes a significant portion of all injuries occurring as a result of automotive, motorcycle and sports related injuries. Over the years, a large amount of literature has been devoted to an increased understanding of clinical symptoms, pathological evidence and injury biomechanics for such injuries. However, the precise causal mechanism, which accounts for complex mechanical interactions and responses in an anatomical structure as complex as the brain, is not fully understood.
