Abstract. Change of the distilled water layer thickness in time under the evaporation from stainless steel surface was studied experimentally. To register a change in the liquid layer thickness an experimental technique with the use of high-precision confocal method was developed. Change of the thickness of thin layers (less than 3 mm) in time is found to have a linear nature. At decreasing the thickness up to 0.5 mm, linear nature changes to the polynomial. It can be explained by the change in surface tension.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
