Drug discovery in pharmaceutical research is a very time taking process. It takes around about 10 to 14 years reached to clinical trial. Chances of discovery of novel molecule reached to clinical trial are very less. Also, it takes billion of investment. Biomedical engineering with new technologies is the answer to these problems. The purpose of this review is to focus on the applications of new technologies like computer-aided drug design, virtual screening, molecular docking, 3D printing, etc. in the field of pharmaceutical research, drug delivery system, and drug discovery. So it is very important for all the researchers and pharmacy departments to be aware of the benefits or applications of these modern technologies. These modern technologies are very useful for pharmaceutical research including pharmacokinetics or pharmacodynamics modeling, optimization of the drug dosage form, and drug delivery system. The current progress of docking-based virtual screening leads to finding out the new target molecule and designing the molecule by using computer-aided drug design and ultimately manufacturing or customization of the dosage form by using 3D printing may finally lead to the become a reality.
Epilepsy is a chronic disorder that causes recurrent seizures. A structural cerebra cortical lesion causes partial seizures, which can be simple or complex. Inherited neural characteristics and neuronal networks may be altered by brain trauma, resulting in recurrent excitatory activity. Anticonvulsant medications in clinical usage can be split into three classes based on their method of action those that enhance gammaamino butyric acid argic neurotransmission and those mechanisms of activities unknown. The current review highlights the recent novel therapies which include herbal approaches and biotechnological therapies. Herbal approaches play a vital role in the treatment of epilepsy as herbs have comparatively lesser side-effects as compare to synthetic or semi synthetic therapies. In the present review, an attempt has been made to establish theco-relation between chemical constituents of herbs and their pharmacological actions. Further, the present review also emphasizes novel therapies like P-glycoprotein inhibitors, gene therapy, stem cell therapy and precision therapy for the management of epilepsy.
Whole pharmaceutical areas needed various innovative and scientific solutions to solve the current problems related to cGMP practices, production, documentation, regulatory body requirements (USFDA, WHO, EU-GMP, PICS), quality of product, etc. To overcome such problems, different computer system software plays an important role by monitoring and maintaining the current practices of the pharma industry. Installing such software will help the pharma industry to improve their cGMP practices and fulfillment the regulatory body’s requirements. This article gives overview on different types of software used in the pharmaceutical industry and hospitals. It also covers importance and their need in the pharma industry, as well as the meaning of software used in hospitals.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
