Quantum dynamic simulations for H2POSH demonstrate a novel approach to the conversion of a racemate into pure enantiomers by ultrashort laser pulses. A thermal distribution is considered such that only the lowest doublet of torsional states is equally populated, which is equivalent to equal densities of preoriented left and right enantiomers. A series of linearly polarized laser pulses then induce selective transitions which convert the racemate into the pure target enantiomer.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
