This study presents design and fabrication of a remote controlled solar powered boat. Three-dimensional software Solid Works is used to construct the hull of the boat. The performance of solar cells is investigated, and an electric circuit is designed. After the conceptual design, the allocations of a DC motor, a paddle, an acceleration servo, a direction servo, solar cells and a battery are designed. The hull of the boat is fabricated by using foaming resin, all components are installed and a prototype of the remote controlled solar powered boat is fabricated. The boat is tested for speed, and the performance of the acceleration, deceleration and turning is acceptable.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
