The article is devoted to one of the most important effects of local strains of lactic acid bacteria-the identification of anti-inflammatory and protective action. Investigations have been carried out on an experimental model of ulcerative colitis caused in experimental animals (mice). Presented data proved that the action of various probiotic bacteria were unequal. The ability of probiotic lactic acid bacteria in invitro and invivo systems to influence the production of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines, stimulate the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, protective effect has been shown. The necessity of studying the specific effect of local strains of lactobacilli on anti-inflammatory properties has been shown for a more adequate, effective selection of probiotic drugs in the treatment of intestinal ulcers.
