This study is to test moderating effects of North Korean Refugees' coping styles in the causal relation between social support and psychological wellbeing and suggest policy implications for helping social adjustment of North Korean Refugees. For this study, 100 North Korean Refugees were sampled and surveyed. The analytical result of this study showed that the degree of psychological wellbeing was highest among the refugees of the entire families migration. Also, this study showed that the causal relationship between social support and psychological wellbeing was not significant, and moderating effects of emotional support and appraisal support were significant, while moderating effects of material support and informative support were not significant. In this study, we suggested some policy implications basing on this analytical results.
This study is aimed to examine the effects of juvenile delinquents' self-esteem on their sociality.To this end, the study conducted a survey of 549 secondary and tertiary students (534 males and 15 females) in delinquent reformatories in four major cities such as Seoul, Busan, Daegu and Daejeon. The result showed that the self-esteem of juvenile delinquents has a significant positive effect on with leadership, autonomy and reliability. Moreover, their self-esteem at home also has a significant positive effect on autonomy. Based on these findings, the study presents implications and suggestions for future studies.
This study is looking to do a new model which overcomes emotional isolation phenomenons of aged people through using an advanced technology in our community approaching an aging society.Senior welfare has been oriented to economically, medically supported welfare model so far. An ageing society going on, even if the scale of welfare cost is bigger and bigger, the level of satisfaction has been decreasing. This is the fact that the expansion of economical support for the aged in emotional alienation is not only a solution for them suffering from emotional isolation phenomenons ,which requires a new model for senior welfare. Above all, because the senior welfare oriented to economically, medically supported welfare model can not be continued any more, a new model is required to be sustainable in national finance. This study has a purpose that recovers emotional life of the aged, improves their quality of life , and offers emotional welfare model to be sustainable economically.
Abstract1)This study is aimed to examine the relationship between calling and job engagement of social workers working at social welfare centers. To this end, the study conducted a self-administered survey of social workers working at social welfare centers in Gwangju Metropolitan City, analysing 154 questionnaires. It was found that the calling of social workers has a significant positive effect on their vitality, dedication and commitment. Based on these, this study discusses its implications and suggests policy implications that can enhance the calling of social workers so as to help them raise their job engagement levels.
