A case of chronic neutrophilic leukaemia with a 4-year survival is reported. The platelet function is abnormal due to a deficiency of storage pool adenine nucleotides. Neutrophils have a paucity of azurophil and specific granules. Circulating and bone marrow colony-forming cells are markedly reduced.
3 hours hypoxia, the remainder were injected with sterile water and acted as controls. The R.V. weight f o r the verapamil treated rats was 178.3 5.2 mg and f o r the control rats 215.3 6.7 rng [p <0.0011.We have shown that if therapeutic levels o f verapamil are present throughout the period of hypoxia, then it will reduce the R.V. hypertrophy. Verapamil may prove to be of value in preventing the pulmonary vasoconstriction which accompanies chronic hypoxia and in prewenting right ventricular failure. ~1 1 results are mean SEN.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
