Structures have been assigned to two new anti-thora megasperma Drechs. var. sojae or on treatment with fungal pterocarpinoids identified in cupric chloride-cupric ch1oride.l One phytoalexin has recently been treated and pathogen-infected soybean plants.assigned the revised structure (1).2 We report the absolute configuration of this compound and the structures of two isomeric pterocarpinoid phytoalexins, produced in similar quantities by soybeans (var. Amsoy 71).

The structure of the fungal metabolite aurovertin B is proposed, based on its chemical properties and both 13C and 1H n.m.r. spectral data.THE aurovertins are a group of toxic metabolites isolated from the fungus Calcarisporiurn arbuscula (Preuss) .l They are potent inhibitors of ATP-synthesis and ATP-hydrolysis catalysed by mitochondria1 enzyme systems.2 We now
