Using the conventional phonon-exchange mechanism of superconductivity we have succeeded in reproducing the transition temperature Tc of a large number of newly discovered high Tc superconductors by introducing a certain modification to the well-known BCS-formula for T c.
A self-consistent method for determining the effective mass, m*, of electrons in metals is presented. This is done through the evaluation of the electronic specific heat of metallic solids. The calculated values for m* agree remarkably well with the experimental data for sodium and potassium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
