Laser-induced fluorescence near 115 nm has been used to measure the Doppler profile of the O(*D) product of 193-nm N20 photolysis. The anisotropy of product recoil vectors is characterized by the parameter j3 = 0.50 f 0.05. The measured velocity distribution can be used to calculate a distribution of recoil energies that is in reasonable agreement with that reported recently by Felder, Haas, and Huber; an average of 27.3 kcal/mol is deposited into translation, leaving =37 kcal/mol for the internal excitation of the N2 fragment.
Colloidal dispersions of uniform spherical particles of cadmium phosphate, nickel basic phosphate, and manganese (II) phosphate were prepared by aging at elevated temperatures metal salt solutions and phosphoric acid or sodium dihydrogen phosphate in the presence of urea and sodium dodecyl sulfate. Uniform spheres were obtained only if urea and the surfactant were added within a given range of concentrations. The spherical particles were amorphous as prepared. Cadmium phosphate and nickel basic phosphate particles crystallized when calcined at appropriate temperatures. Manganese (II) phosphate particles underwent a phase transformation to crystalline plate-like solids when aged in doubly distilled water at room temperature.
The first translational, rotational and vibrational energy resolved study of CO desorption from epitaxically grown NiO(111) at 70 K in photochemistry study is reporeted. (AIP)
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
