ChemInform Abstract Reaction of the diphenylchlorophosphine aluminum trichloride complex (I) with n-butyl iodide (II) without a solvent followed by aqueous work-up gives the sec-butyl-(III) and the tert-butylphosphine oxide (IV). In the presence of diethyl ether (V) and benzene, however, a mixture of the ethyl-(VI) and the n-butylphosphine oxide (VII) is obtained.
ChemInform Abstract The complex (I) reacts with benzene (II) and isopropyl chloride (III) to produce the phosphine oxides (IV) and (V). The phosphine oxide (VII) is obtained from (I) and tert-butylbenzene (VI). (Mechanism).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
