The expediency of joint application of methods of multi-criteria decision analysis of (MCDA) and geoinformation systems (GIS) in order to assess the suitability of lands for cultivation of agricultural crops is substantiated. The implementation of this approach will make it possible to partially automate the process of assessing land. The studies were carried out on the territory of ZAO Mirny, Kochenevsky District, Novosibirsk Region (54°56′24″ N, 82°06′12″ E), located in the forest-steppe zone. Taking into account the peculiarities of the territory under consideration, the following criteria were selected for assessing suitability of lands: drainage condition, soils granulometric composition, contrast of soil cover, working areas elevation pattern, humus layer thickness, ploughness, terrain slope angle, exposure of slopes, erosion degree. The sources of spatial information were land management maps, soil and topographic maps, digital elevation model (DEM), SRTM, ultra-high resolution satellite images. The collection and processing of spatial information was carried out in QuantumGIS (QGIS), which has an open modular architecture. ELECTRE TRI and the hierarchy analysis method were selected for the analytical assessment of information within MCDA. For both methods, there are procedures that are integrated with QGIS. With the help of QGIS GIS tools, the land use of a particular agricultural enterprise was divided into working areas, their boundaries and areas were determined. A method for obtaining an attribute database is described for each criterion. An overview of the ELECTRE TRI methods and the hierarchy analysis method is given, and their launch procedures in QGIS are described. The criteria weights were obtained using the hierarchy analysis method (Easy АНР procedure in QuantumGIS), and the main result – the land suitability map (according to the FAO classification) – was obtained using the ELECTRE TRI method (ELECTRE TRI procedure for QuantumGIS). Since the result of the ELECTRE TRI procedure are two decision maps: according to the pessimistic and optimistic scenarios, additional studies were carried out, on the basis of which it was possible to establish that the map obtained according to the optimistic scenario has a greater consistency with the natural conditions of the agricultural enterprise.
The article discusses the main characteristics of agricultural land use in the Omsk region: the size of land use by regions and agricultural organizations, their legal status; the state of their main production parameters - fertility, technological properties, location relative to economic centers and centers of economic influence on land use. These parameters mainly determine the production potential of agricultural land use. The land use was grouped by the size of the land used, which made it possible to calculate the share of land used in agricultural organizations on the basis of ownership and lease. The current disadvantages of land lease and their economic consequences are indicated. A significant variety of the basic dimensions and legal status of lands has been established both in the region as a whole and in the natural and agricultural zones. Based on the quality of land, their production potential has been determined. It is shown that their zonal differences form a heterogeneous production basis for agricultural production. To confirm this, an analysis was made of the influence of the production potential of the land on the efficiency of crop production, both for the basic farms of all natural and agricultural zones, and for the region as a whole. The conditions of the realization of the potential of the land are analyzed taking into account labor supply, fund provision and land qualities and their influence on the results and efficiency of agricultural production. Based on this, economic and organizational measures are recommended to reduce differences in the agricultural land use system of the region, as well as increase its production potential.
The minimum required information and the sequence of agroecological land type allocation on the land management territory of the experimental station (ES) located in the forest-steppe of the Priob'ye region of Novosibirsk is described. Two agroecological land types are distinguished: the first type (upland lands) is represented by leached chernozem in combination with common, podzolized and dark-grey forest soils; the second type (slightly erosive lands) is represented by leached chernozem in combination with dark-grey forest soils. Soil cover of ES in both types of lands is represented by leached chernozem (Lch-2-2s), the share of which for the first type is 75.26%, for the second - 76.26% of the total area of the types. The first agroecological land type is characterized by a range of heights from 134 to 165 m. The working areas are located on the slopes between 0 and 3 degrees in relation to the terrain angle. Vertical dissection of the relief averages 1.3 m, horizontal dissection by erosion forms is 0.8 km/km2. The second type of land is characterized by an elevation of 113 to 137 meters above sea level and a slope of 1 to 4 degrees. Vertical dissection of the terrain averages 1.7 m, horizontal dissection by erosion forms 0.9 km/km2. Typification was carried out with the help of a generated Digital Land Use Model (DLM) of the ES based on the analysis of geographical information, remote sensing materials (ERS) and cadastral map. The DLM consists of the following geo-information layers: topography, land cover, digital elevation model (DEM), working areas. The DEM includes information on slope steepness and exposure, vertical and horizontal dissection.
