Examination of hospital wastewater with ammonia and phosphate levels is only carried out after treatment (outlet) of WWTP, before treatment (inlet) of WWTP has not been tested by the hospital. The purpose of the study was to analyze the liquid waste in terms of the parameters of Free Ammonia (NH3-N) and Phosphate (PO4) at the inlet and outlet of hospital wastewater. The research design is descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted on the liquid waste of the Islamic Hospital A. Yani Surabaya, in June 2022. The sample size used was 2 samples, namely the inlet and outlet points of the WWTP, the samples were examined in the laboratory. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive narrative and calculation of the effectiveness of wastewater treatment. The results of the test on ammonia levels at the inlet obtained results of 30.7 mg/L and 0.04 mg/L at the outlet. Meanwhile, the results of the phosphate level test at the inlet were 4.09 mg/L and 1 mg/L at the outlet. The results of the calculation of the effectiveness of reducing ammonia levels are 99.86% with very effective information, while for phosphate levels of 75.55% with effective information. The conclusion in this study is that the wastewater at the outlet containing levels of ammonia and phosphate has met the quality standards of the East Java governor's regulation no. 72 of 2013. The decrease in both levels was influenced by the anaerobic equalization process and the addition of chlorine solution in the indicator pond.
