The world population is aging, with older populations growing more quickly than any other demographic (United Nations, 2019). The World Health Organization (2018) estimates that by 2050, the global older adult population will nearly double from 12% to 22%. There is strong evidence of a positive relationship between healthy eating and healthy aging (Baugreet et al., 2017;Drewnowski & Evans, 2001). It is important to address the health status of the aging population. Older adults, aged 60 and above, face numerous health issues that can impact eating habits and attitudes (CDC, 2015; World Health Organization, 2018).
