Tradit ional farming on agricultural land under the standard soil and natural-climatic conditions within the EU is based on the structure of the polygastric livestock (especially cattle), which ensures the complex carbon recycling and its return to arable soil. In the last 15 years, we have been witnessing to a sharp decline in the number of dairy cows in the Czech Republic. Th is fact has resulted in certain destabilising factors that have disrupted the stability of the biological system. Breeding dairy cows and its profi tability is a function of the conditions for the realisation of milk production. Th is paper examines these aspects within a complex of factors from the use of milk production to the structure of the decision making process and it classifi es and quantifi es the individual problems from the perspective of the multi-criteria analysis.Key words: role of milk in human nutrition, quality of milk production, producer's strategic decision making capacity, applied methods of multi-criteria analysis, quality of milk production, quantitative factor analysis

AbstractTumors of the oral cavity are relatively common malignancies with a poor prognosis. Use of both prognostic and predictive biomarkers in saliva represents one approach to improve the management of patients with these cancers. The aim of the present study was to measure salivary neopterin concentrations before and after surgery in patients with oropharyngeal cancer to assess potential use as a biomarker in clinical practice. Salivary neopterin concentration was determined before and after surgery in 16 patients treated for oropharyngeal cancer and compared with 15 healthy volunteers. Salivary neopterin concentrations were significantly higher in patients before surgery compared to the healthy controls. After the surgery, neopterin concentrations decreased significantly, and concentrations in patients and controls were comparable. A significant correlation was observed between the sum of the Community Periodontal Index of Treatment Needs values and salivary neopterin concentrations. In conclusion, tumor removal results in significant decrease of salivary neopterin concentrations. The use of salivary neopterin in diagnosis is compounded by an association with periodontal disease.

Anny a LF MU v Brně 3 Klinika zubního lékařství FN a LF UP Olomouc V dnešní době se v našich ordinacích setkáváme s velkým množstvím pacientů, kteří jsou indikováni k antikoagulační terapii. Jejich počet se s časem nestabilizuje, naopak indikací k antikoagulační léčbě spíše přibývá, a tak tito pacienti jsou velmi početnou skupinou zastoupenou v ordinacích stomatologů. Pro stomatochirurga z toho vyplývá několik rizik, která se pokusí autoři nyní shrnout do několika odstavců tak, aby čtenář tohoto časopisu, který zná dokonale koagulační kaskádu a účinek jednotlivých preparátů na ni, měl i náhled z druhé -praktické části našeho malého chirurgického oboru.
