Cadmium is an important poisonous metal, which often enriches in soils and stream sediments. While the content of cadmium reaches a definite level, it will harm human health. This paper uses contribution factor and enrichment factor to research on the sources of high Cd-value belt in Yichang section of the Yangtze River. As the result showed that: (1) The strata in the study area made a different contribution to the high Cd-value belt, which from big to small is the Sinian system, the Permian system, the Triassic system, the Cambrian system, the Silurian system, the Devonian system , the Pre-Sinian system , the Ordovician system , the Jurassic system and the Cretaceous system. (2) Comprehensive study by contribution factor, enrichment factor and MAPGIS spatial analyses, the major natural sources were from the process of weathering and draining of the Sinian system, the Permian system, the Triassic system, which are enriched of mine and cadmium.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
