BackgroundUltra-weak photon emission (UPE), or biophoton emission, is a phenomenon observed in various living organisms, including plants. In this study, we analyzed the UPE from ripening strawberry fruits, to elucidate its source and association with cellular energy.MethodsFreshly harvested and stored strawberry fruits were measured for levels of UPE and energy molecules adenosine triphosphate (ATP), adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP). The associations between them were calculated.ResultsIn ripening fruit, a decrease in UPE positively correlated with declining levels of ATP, AMP, and energy charge. In harvested fruits, levels of UPE, ATP, and energy charge declined, but ADP and AMP increased.ConclusionChanges in UPE levels synchronized with changes in ATP and energy charge, which reflect cellular energy levels. Thus, cellular energy may be related to UPE, and may be an energy source for UPE.
This article focuses on the application of lattice anchor system in high slope protection. According to the engineering geological characteristics of the slope of the site, combined with the requirements of the layout of the slope of the site, the slope is permanently supported by the combined support system of lattice anchor rods, nets, and soil spray. The example takes the slope under the arc failure mode as the research object to carry out the parameter design calculation, and conducts real-time monitoring during and after the construction. Calculation and monitoring analysis show that it is feasible for concrete lattice anchor system to be used in slope reinforcement projects, and the stable bearing capacity of lattice anchor system is higher, which has higher construction safety and better effect.
Based on unsaturated triaxial testing system, with different water content, the strength characteristics of expansive soils of Nanning are studied. Under certain confining pressure, with low water content, stress-strain curve is strain-softening, whereas with high water content, is strain hardening; Under high confining pressure, with low water content stress-strain curve is strain-hardening type, whereas with low confining pressure the stress-strain curve with the increase of axial strain is a slight softening trend. The shear strength of soil has a large sensitivity with moisture content. As the moisture content increases, the expansive soil friction angle decreases linearly. With the increase of water content, firstly its cohesive force increases, it reaches maximum value at the optimum water content, then it decreases with the increase of water content.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
