Traditional food is a food and drink that is usually consumed by certain people, with a distinctive taste that is accepted by the community. This study aims to record, reveal, document community knowledge about plant species and how to use them as food packaging material by the people of Central Bangka Regency and to find out the conservation status or level of threat of species. The research method was conducted by interviewing the criteria of key informants, field observations, anatomical observations and cluster analysis with pastpogram software and in determining the location using purposive sampling. The results of the study obtained 10 types of plants whose leaves are used as food and food wrappers consisting of 7 families. The most widely used families are Arecaceae, Pandanaceae and Poaceae. The highest number of plant species based on habitat is 9(43%). The highest number of plant species based on habitus is herbs 5(50%). Based on the results of the cluster analysis, most people use banana leaves (Musa sp.) as food and food packaging.
Indonesia has been know as own high diversity of flora and fauna. In addition, Indonesia has been know high diversity of ethnics which has various distinctive traditions, including local knowledge. One of the local knowledge on using of traditional medicinal plants. The utilization of plants as medicinal plants has never been reported yet because of the changes of era, the local wisdom knowledge especially for medicinal plants has faded away. The purpose of this research is to determine the local knowledge of Jerieng ethnic in utilizing the plant include the parts of the plant, the processing, and the benefit as medicinal plants), collecting data of the medicinal plants diversity (species numbers, scientific name, local name, familes, habitat and habitus). The method of this research was used the qualitative and descriptive analysis. Data was collected from survey and interview in the Jerieng ethnic using snowball sampling. The result of research show there are 82 plants species 52 families, 16 informans, and 45 species disease. The most dominant families of medicinal plants is Zingiberaceae with 7 kinds and graminae//poaceae with 6 kinds. The most frequent used part of the plants by Jerieng ethnic are the leaf 46%, trunk habitus species 35% and the higher habitat is at plants garden house 52%. Meanwhile for the most used processing is by boiling the medicinal plants.
Plant has many benefit in life, one of example is etnic’s edible food. Jerieng etnic is origin etnic living in the west Bangka district, Bangka Beltung province. Food is everything that grows, lives, has stem, roots, and leaves are eaten directly or need to be processed. The purpose of this research is to record the diversity of food crops (types of edible plant based food, number of species, parts used, processing. This research was conducted from January to November 2018. The research in 13 villages in Simpang Teritip District, West Bangka Regency. Locations include Pelangas Village, Simpang Gong, Air Nyatoh, Pangek, Peradong, Kundi, Air Menduyung, Rambat, Simpang Tiga, Terak Hill, Ibul, Berang, and Mayang. This research aims to do interview and direct observation with the key informant using purposive sampling method. The result of this research found that there are 79 species from 34 families of edible plant-based food in Jerieng etnic. Solanaceae is the most numerous family found including 9 species. The most often used plant part is fruit (39%), meanwhile the less often used plant part is bud (1%). Edible plant based food by Jerieng etnic is divided into two groups, those are processed food and unprocessed food. Example of unprocessed food is local salad (known as “lalapan”) and the processed food such as lempah darat and lempah kuning.
Pandemi Covid-19 di tahun 2022 masih belum menunjukkan penurunan bahkan saat ini muncul varian baru dari penyakit ini yaitu B.117 asal Inggris, kemudian B.1351 asal Afrika Selatan dan varian mutasi ganda dari India B. 1617, varian delta dan varian omicron.Secara khusus di Propinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung pandemic Covid 19 perTanggal 13 Februari 2022 berjumlah terkonfirmasi positif 53.400 orang,melakukan isolasi mandiri 863 orang, 51073 orang sembuh dan 1464 orang meninggal dunia. Gejala klinis dari Covid-19 meliputi demam, batuk, parosmia atau kehilangan rasa dan bau, delirium atau gejala mental kebingungan, diare dan masalah pencernaan, sakit tenggorokan, kelelahan, nyeri pada tubuh, mual dan muntah, pusing, tidak ada produksi air liur, ruam kulit, dan sakit mata. Upaya menemukan formulasi obat yang tepat untuk mengatasi pandemic ini terus dilakukan berbagai pihak secara optimal. Bentuk upaya itu diantaranya mengkaji potensi tumbuhan dan hewan yang biasa dipergunakan oleh etnik tertentu secara tradisional. Penelitian ini berfokus pada dua etnik di Pulau Bangka yaitu Suku Lom yang berada di Utara dan Suku Jerieng yang berada di Barat Pulau Bangka. Metode penelitian wawancara, observasi lapangan dan literatur studi yang bersumber repositori UBB, situs resmi satgas covid, dan artikel ilmiah terpublikasi di Jurnal Ilmiah. Hasil yang didapatkan pemanfaatan tumbuhan dan hewan untuk mengatasi gejala-gejala klinis covid 19 oleh Suku Lom 37 jenis tumbuhan dan 16 jenis hewan, sedangkan Suku Jerieng memanfaatkan tumbuhan 30 jenis dan hewan 7 jenis. Kesimpulannya, masyarakat lokal Etnik Lom dan Jerieng secara tradisional telah melakukan upaya pencegahan dan pengobatan untuk mengatasi pandemik covid-19. Untuk memastiskan senyawa obat yang terkandung didalam tumbuhan dan hewan yang dimanfaatkan masih diperlukan uji famakologi lebih lanjut.
