Dengue fever is a health problem in Indonesia, including in Gorontalo Province, with an incidence rate of 101.53 per 100,000 population. One of the efforts to prevent the incidence of dengue fever is the use of natural insecticides, including red ginger. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of red ginger juice on the mortality of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. This research took place at the Laboratory of the Department of Public Health, the State University of Gorontalo, in 2021 using a True Experiment design. The mosquito larvae samples used were 500 larvae of Aedes aegypti instar IV mosquitoes taken from endemic areas of dengue fever in Gorontalo. Data were analyzed using the One Way ANOVA statistical test. Red ginger extract was given in five concentrations, namely 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. The results showed an effect of red ginger extract on the mortality of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae at each treatment concentration given (p-Value = 0.000). The higher the concentration level given, the higher the larval mortality rate will also be. Red ginger is expected to be used by the community to prevent dengue fever.
Umbilical cord care is an action to treat the umbilical cord in newborns to keep it dry and prevent infection. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of adolescent post partum toward umbilical cord care. This study employs a quantitative method with a descriptive design. The populations are adolescent post partum in the working area of Kota Timur Public Health Center, totaling 98 people with a total sample of 79 people who are determined using the Cluster Random Sampling technique, The research questionnaire used a mother's knowledge questionnaire about cord care which consisted of 26 questions and the data used are univariate data. The results show that the number of respondents who have good knowledge is 32 respondents (40,5%), 40 respondents (50,6%) have sufficient knowledge, 7 respondents (8,9%) have a lack of knowledge.
The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and anxiety regarding the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination in the community. The research was conducted in the Dulupi Health Center work area from March to April 2022, with an analytical observational research design using a cross-sectional approach. The research population is the Dulupi Public Health Center work area community, with a total sample of 297 people taken using the cluster random sampling technique and calculated by Slovin's formula. Data were collected through a questionnaire which were then analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The knowledge variable, most of them had less knowledge (91.9%), and in the anxiety variable, most of the respondents experienced mild anxiety (55.2%). In the implementation variable, most of the respondents were not vaccinated, 245 people (82.5%), while those who were vaccinated were 52 people (17.5%). The level of knowledge and anxiety is primarily related to the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination, with P-values of (0.047) and (0.000) <P (0.05). There is a significant correlation between knowledge and anxiety regarding implementing COVID-19 vaccination in the Dulupi Health Center work area, Boalemo Regency.
Insomnia is a condition experienced by a person who has chronic difficulty falling asleep, frequently awakening from sleep, and having a short sleep or non-restorative sleep. The aim of this study is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of insomnia in final-year students. This research is a quantitative analytic study with a Cross-Sectional Study approach. The population in this study is the number of final year students of the sports and health faculty of the Gorontalo State University for the 2021/2022 academic year as many as 834 students. The minimum sample size required in the study is 270 final-year students. Factors associated with the incidence of insomnia were assessed by Chi-Square test. The results of statistical tests showed that the habit of drinking coffee (p-value = 0.000), playing with gadgets (p-value = 0.000) and stress (p-value = 0.000) were found to have a significant relationship with the incidence of insomnia. It is recommended for students to improve a healthy lifestyle such as getting enough rest and sleep and consuming healthy and nutritious food drinks.
