Mangroves have important roles in the coastal environment. They enrich coastal waters with nutrient, protect coastlines from abrasion and sea level rise as well as support coastal fisheries. Another function of mangroves that are less known is their role in carbon (C) sequestration and storage. Previous studies reveal that mangrove forests contain some of the highest carbon stocks per unit area compared to other forest types. However, that information is not widely available, particularly in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine distribution and community structure of mangroves ecosystem and to estimate carbon stock stored in the mangrove forest of Paliat Island Sumenep East Java. The data collection was conducted on the island, starting from July to September 2017 using harvesting sampling method. Furthermore, to discriminate carbon stock from different parts of mangrove vegetation, One Way ANOVA statistical analysis was employed. The results showed that there were 4 dominant mangrove species on the island namely Rhizophora mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Rhizophora stylosa and Rhizophora apiculata. The total mangrove biomass of the study area was approximately 21.59 ton/Ha with an estimated carbon stock around 10.80 ton/Ha. Further analysis explained that there was a significant difference in carbon stock between various parts of mangrove vegetation (One Way ANOVA, F = 220, df1=4, df2=85, p<0.05).
There was a degraded ecosystem and an affected decreasing nekton and microbenthos at River Pelus. So far, no publication of macrobenthos is available. The research purpose was to map species richness and longitudinal distribution of macrobenthos. The survey method was taken with stratified random sampling in eight stations and five replicates from May to July 2018. The result showed ten species of macrobenthos. All species belonged to class Malacostraca (four species) and Gastropoda (six species). Of the four species collected in all replicates, Macrobrachium oenone categorized as an indicator species that only lived in Station II because there were a boulder substrate and good water quality. In the same class, M. pilimanus, Parathelpusa bogoriensis, and P. convexa were in all stations except station V because there was a sand substrate and poor water quality. In station V, there were only two species of gastropod, Melanoides riquerti and Pomacea canaliculata that could live. In general, there were a cosmopolitan species that could live in all substrates and water quality such asM. riquerti. For a longitudinal distribution map, there was a unique tendency of decreasing species richness numbers due to the river weir.
This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation, level of understanding of Government Regulation no. 23 of 2018, tax sanctions, and tax socialization on MSME Taxpayer Compliance Registered at KPP Pratama Ponorogo. MSMEs play a significant role in economic growth in Indonesia, so MSMEs are the most significant tax contributor in the economy compared to large companies. The most significant tax revenue comes from the MSME sector because the growth of MSMEs increases yearly. The population in this study is 38.387 taxpayers registered at KPP Pratama Ponorogo in 2021. Determination of the sample using the Slovin formula with the sampling technique using snowball sampling.“The number of samples in this study was 99 MSME taxpayers registered at KPP Pratama Ponorogo.“This type of quantitative research with primary data originating from the distribution of questionnaires. All data collected in this study were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis models with the SPSS program.”The stages of testing in this research include descriptive statistical analysis, data quality test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that: (1) the application of PP no. 23 of 2018 has a positive and significant effect on MSME taxpayer compliance. (2) the level of understanding of PP No. 23 of 2018 has a positive and significant effect on MSME taxpayer compliance. (3) tax sanctions positively and significantly affect MSME taxpayer compliance. (4) tax socialization positively and significantly affects MSME taxpayer compliance. (5) Simultaneously, the application of PP No. 23 of 2018, the level of understanding of PP No. 23 of 2018, tax sanctions and tax socialization significantly affect MSME taxpayer compliance.

This research aimed to find out the effect of using English short stories in reading comprehension toward students’ ability of junior high school No. 15 Jambi City. In order to achieve the objective of this research, the research design used quasi-experimental. This research took two classes, an experimental class and control class. VII B was experimental class that consist of 30 students were taught by using English short story, and VIII C was control class that consist of 30 students were taught by using non-English short story. This research used a test instrument, a reading test in the form of multiple-choice test with 20 items with options A, B, C, and D. The technique of data collection of this research used a test as a research instrument. The technique of data analysis of this research is calculation the students' score and analyzing the students' score using SPSS. The data was analyzed by T-test using SPSS for windows version 16.0. The difference. It is found that the value of sig was 0,004, at the significance level of 5% (0,05) and then 0,004 < 0,05. In this research, Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected because the value of Sig < a in significant degree. (0,004 < 0,05) and alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted if the value of Sig < a in significant degree (0,004 < 0,05). The explanation above proved that there is an effect of using English short stories in reading comprehension toward students’ ability of junior high school No. 15 Jambi City
