The increasing demand for diesel fuel causes high levels of air pollution, noise, and vibration. Therefore, we need a mixture of materials that can reduce the environmental effect with low vibration. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a diesel-essential oil mixture on a diesel engine, related to engine performance, noise, and vibration. The research was conducted using a 402 CC Dongfeng diesel engine, a mixture of diesel and essential oils with a percentage of 5 %, 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, engine speed of 1,300 rpm, 1,500 rpm, 1,700 rpm, 1,900 rpm. The noise intensity test uses a sound level meter at 30–130 dBA with a frequency between 20–20,000 Hz. To test the density of smoke, a smoke tester was used. Meanwhile, to measure the rotational speed of the engine, a DT 2234L type tachometer was used. A digital stopwatch was used to measure the processing time with an accuracy of up to 0.01 s. Besides that, a strain gauge was also used to detect vibrations. A measuring cup was used to measure the volume of the mixture of fuel and essential oils. The results showed that in the B10 mixture at 1,300 rpm engine speed, the largest fuel consumption time was 155 s. While the smallest fuel consumption time is found at 1,900 engine speed, which is 106 s. The lowest percentage of exhaust emissions is in the B20 mixture, which is 56.8 %. While the largest percentage of exhaust emissions is in B0 with a value of 79.8 %. The lowest noise value is in the B10 mixture at 1,300 rpm engine speed, which is 105.7 dB. While the highest noise value is at 1,900 engine speed, which is 112.3 dB. The lowest vibration is in the B10 mixture with an engine speed of 1,300 rpm, which is 975.7 Hz. While the highest noise value is in the B10 mixture with 1,900 engine speed, which is 989.8 Hz.
Bioethanol is an alternative fuel to substitute fossil oil. Bioethanol has several advantages in its use as a fuel in addition to its renewable nature, and bioethanol is also believed to reduce some motor vehicle emissions. The purpose and objective of this study were to determine the effect of a mixture of Bioethanol and Pertamax on gas emissions in a 4-stroke motor with variations in the fuel mixture and engine cycle. This test method is carried out with the measurement parameters of CO, HC, CO2, and O2. Tests on motor vehicles were carried out with variations of BP0 (0% Bioethanol) to BP100 (100% Bioethanol). The test results using a gas analyzer and analyzed using excel show that bioethanol cannot reduce exhaust gas emissions. Adding bioethanol fuel to Pertamax can also increase the fuel's octane number (RON) and specific gravity. From the available data, adding bioethanol can reduce HC emission levels by up to 4ppm at BP50 at 6000 rpm, increasing CO2 emissions by 13.4% at BP50 at 7000 rpm with a compression ratio of 13:1. For the lowest O2 emission level, it reaches 0.13%. at BP40 at 5000 rpm. CO emission levels are still relatively small in various mixtures with a yield of 0.01%, but at BP0 and BP80 at 13:1 compression, emissions tend to increase every rpm.
Metal cutting process (cutting process) is to cut metal to get the shape and size and quality of the planned cutting surface. The metal cutting process is carried out with special tools, according to the type of cutting process. So the tools for one process cannot be used in another process, even for similar processes, the tools cannot be exchanged if the cutting plans are not the same. Lathe process is a machining process to produce cylindrical machine parts which are carried out using a Lathe. Its basic form can be defined as the machining process of the outer surface of cylindrical or flat lathe objects. Polyvinyl Chloride, commonly abbreviated as PVC, is the third-order thermoplastic polymer in terms of total usage in the world, after Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP). Worldwide, more than 50% of PVC produced is used in construction. PVC is produced by polymerizing vinyl chloride monomers (CH2 = CHCl). Because 57% of its mass is chlorine, PVC is the polymer that uses the lowest petroleum feedstock among other polymers. This research follows up the selection of configuration of the lathe machining process using plastic work pieces. In this study, Maximat V13 lathe and PVC type plastic were used. The variation of machining processes are spindle rotation (320, 540, and 900 rpm), feeding speed (0.07, 0.14, and 0.28), the use of tool types (carbide and HSS) and cooling (without cooling, coolant, and oil). So, with this research, it is expected that the optimal parameters in determining the configuration of the lathe machining process on a PVC work piece to produce a good turning surface can be achieved
In terms of fulfilling the rights and obligations of the residents of Langkat Regency in the field of civil registration of birth certificates, a comprehensive arrangement is needed to serve as guidelines and guidelines for all government officials in Langkat Regency. As the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction Number 470/837 / SJ 07 concerning the Administration of a Conscious Indonesia Movement (GISA) which aims to increase public awareness in the field of population administration, effective and efficient government and a competitive state. The local government is expected to fully support the program by creating an ideal ecosystem. This study aims to see the implementation of the Administrative Awareness Movement program in accelerating ownership of birth certificates aged 0-18 years in Langkat Regency. In this study, the research methodology used by the writers was a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach with the intention of focusing on the problems or phenomena that existed at the time the research was carried out. Key research informants were the Head of the Population and Civil Registry Office and the Head of the Civil Registration Division. Based on the results of the presentation and analysis of the data, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Administration Awareness Indonesia Movement program in accelerating the ownership of birth certificates aged 0-18 years in Langkat Regency is still not optimal, such as the communication process has not been maximal, limited resources, no budget for the program and there is a transition of structural officials.
