The rate of short cervical length was less than expected. Vaginal progesterone is efficacious for the prolonging of gestation in women with a cervical length of 10-20 mm in the mid-trimester for a singleton gestation and nulliparous women. For a cervical length of 20-25 mm in the mid trimester, vaginal progesterone compared with bed rest did not prolong pregnancy.
The appearance of fetal urinoma is rare in prenatal care, especially when associated with polyhydramnions. Many previous reports have concluded that the visualization of a prenatal urinoma is probably a sign of underlying renal dysplasia or poor function. Thus, the management of the reported cases, conservative treatment or uniroma drainage, has not been unified. In this paper, we present two cases of prenatally detected urinoma with prenatal drainage to improve the prognosis.
Background
Ventricular noncompaction (VNC) is a cardiomyopathy characterized by overdeveloped ventricular trabeculaes and deep recess, which has been rarely reported.
Case presentation
A 29‐year‐old Chinese pregnant woman with no obvious fetal abnormality in regular prenatal examination during first and second trimester. However, at 32 weeks of gestation, both obstetric growth scan and fetal echocardiogram revealed an enlarged heart with grid‐like changes at the apical region. Eventually, the genetic and autopsy findings indicated the deceased infant with VNC.
Conclusion
Isolated VNC could be detected prenatally, even during the late pregnancy. Fetuses suspected of VNC should be offered genetic tests.
