In this paper we prove some new fixed point results in the context of ordered b-metric spaces for rational Geraghty contractive mappings. Thus our results in the new context generalize, extend, unify, enrich and complement fixed point theorems of contractive mappings in several aspects. One example is given to show the validity of our results. In addition, we obtain the periodic property of these mappings. c 2015 All rights reserved.
Debates in applied ethics about the proper treatment of animals often refer to empirical data about animal cognition, emotion, and behavior. In addition, there is increasing interest in the question of whether any nonhuman animal could be something like a moral agent.
We clarify some points previously made by Andrews, and defend the claim that Davidson's account of belief can be and is challenged by the existence of some people with autism. We argue that both Bouma and Andrews (Philosophical Psychology, 15) blurred the subtle distinctions between the psychological concepts of theory of mind and joint attention and the Davidsonian concepts of interpretation and triangulation. And we accept that appeal to control group studies is not the appropriate place to look for an individual who can speak but who has significant problems with interpretation. In this paper we argue that by turning to the clinical literature we can more readily find such a challenge to Davidson's account.
My goal in this paper is to examine the Wittgensteinian attitudinal approach to the problem of other minds initially proposed by M.R.M. ter Hark (1991) and developed by Hyslop (1995 Even though it might appear that the problem of other minds raises the question about the nature of our psychosocial strategies for making sense of other people, their thoughts, feelings, and actions, this is not its focal point.
