This investigation highlights the complex nature of measuring change in people who have received a BPD diagnosis. Further research is needed to develop meaningful ways of measuring change according to the needs and priorities of people with BPD.
We present a model for understanding processes that occur when working with people with long-standing interpersonal difficulties. We explore challenges associated with this client group, and how this model helps us make sense of working in a specialist service.
