Objective: To identify the profile of herbal medicines most commercialized in a magistral pharmacy in the municipality of Sousa, Paraíba/PB, Brazil. Methodology: This is a documentary, retrospective and descriptive study on the most widely used herbal medicines in the handling pharmacy over a period ofJune 2018 to August 2019. Data collection was carried out based on pharmacy databases analyzed, with the following points assessed: which plants are part of the herbal formulations dispensed and which pharmaceutical form. Tables were used to evaluate this information. Results: A total of 29 herbal medicines manipulated and distributed in the largest number of master pharmacie mentioned. According to the verified bases, 6 different dosage forms were used, namely: capsules, sachets, shot, syrup, soap and cream. Final considerations: It was observed that the most frequent formulation in herbal preparations was the capsule. In addition, it was possible to conclude that there was a predominance in the acquisition of herbal medicines with aniolytic action, followed by those that aid in weight loss.
Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of dentistry students at the Federal University of Campina Grande about concepts about the main bacterial infections with oral and / or maxillofacial manifestations. Method: It was an observational, descriptive study, with quantitative and qualitative analysis whose sample was composed of 130 students from the 1st, 2nd, 9th and 10th periods. A questionnaire of 12 objective questions was used about: syphilis, tuberculosis, leprosy and actinomycosis. The results were subjected to Pearson's Chi-Square test. Results: Most participants were female (58%), aged between 18 and 33 years. Regarding the questions that characterized the etiologic agents of bacterial infections, a higher percentage of correct responses was observed in the 9th and 10th period group (p=0.002). When relating the characteristics of syphilis with their respective stages, it was observed that the percentage of error was only 6.15% of the total number of students, with no statistically significant difference (p=0.791) between the groups. In the analysis of possible oral manifestations of tuberculosis, it was observed that the percentage of error was 69.23% of the total number of students, with no statistically significant differences between groups (p=0.060). Most students stated that they acquired knowledge about these infections at the university (54.61%). A total of 63.07% self-assessed their knowledge on the subject as insufficient. Conclusion: Despite the contrary self-assessment, students showed satisfactory knowledge, mainly about the etiological agents of these diseases and about the stages of syphilis.
Os objetivos desta pesquisa foram, por meio de um questionário, avaliar o nível de conhecimento dos alunos do curso de Odontologia da UFCG sobre o banco de dentes, uso de dentes extraídos, captação de dentes para uso pré-clínico e, especialmente, sobre biossegurança na manipulação de dentes. Um questionário foi aplicado aos alunos do primeiro ao quinto ano do curso. Após aplicação do questionário, constatou-se que 65,3% dos alunos entrevistados relataram dificuldade na obtenção dos dentes solicitados nas disciplinas; com relação à biossegurança, 57,6% dos alunos afirmaram ter manipulado sem equipamentos de proteção individual os dentes extraídos, Unidade Básica de Saúde e com outros colegas foram as opções mais assinaladas pelos alunos com relação a procura e captação dos dentes para uso na graduação. Existem dificuldades na obtenção de dentes, a maioria adquiriu em unidades de saúde e com outros colegas. Uma quantidade expressiva de alunos não utilizou EPI durante a manipulação de algum dente e todos são a favor da doação de órgãos.
