Since I began this research, many positive things have occurred in my life, both personally, privately and academically. For that, I am very, very grateful to those who somehow helped me along this journey. There are some people I would like to mention whose support was vital to get me here. First of all, I would like to thank my mom and dad, whom I will never be able to thank enough. Your passions became my passions, and if I ever did something good, I owe it to you. I love you. I would also like to thank Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, my master, whose ideals inspire me continually to follow a path of development linked to a grand purpose. I would also like to expresses my deep gratitude to my supervisor, Professor Fabio Gagliardi Cozman, for all the advice, support, understanding and encouragement. Working with you has opened my mind in so many ways. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity. I would also like to thank my friend and mentor, Professor Renato Vicente, and all my lab colleagues, especially Arthur Gusmão and Glauber de Bona.
