This book initiates the „EURASIA” publishing series, established with the intention of creating a research and publication forum devoted to the Eurasian area, understood primarily as the terri- tory of the former Russian Empire and the USSR. The aim of the series is to show various aspects of the evolution of this multiform world with its political systems, international relations, including geopolitical aspects, economy, natural environment and raw mate- rials, social structures or cultural patterns, along with their specific manifestations.
