This work presents an experimental study about the electric conductivity in polyanilines synthesized by plasma obtained from halogenated anilines in which chlorine or iodine atoms are bonded in meta position to the aniline rings. The objective is to study the enhancement of the electric conductivity of these structures due to the addition of electronegative atoms to the polymeric chains. The results show that the halogenated anilines produce polymers with an electric conductivity up to eight orders of magnitude higher than those of the undoped polyanilines, reaching $10 À4 S/cm.
SYNOPSISA exploratory study on the copolymerizability of 2-vinyl-l,3-dioxane (VD) has been carried out.V D was polymerized with styrene, vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, and acrylonitrile.Acrylonitrile was the only one which provided copolymerization products. For the acrylonitrile (M&VD (Mz) pair, rl = 3.64 & 0.1 and ra = 0.057 & 0.01 at 7OOC. The transfer reactions of a series of 1, 3-dioxane compounds in the styrene polymerization were investigated, with the result that the acetalic hydrogen is responsible for the transfer values found. VD was also copolymerized with maleic anhydride yielding alternating copolymers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
