Non-steroidal anti-in¯ammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Helicobacter pylori are well-recognized causes of gastroduodenal mucosal damage. This damage is mediated through the effects of both agents on acid secretion, neutrophil activity and function, and prostaglandin metabolism.
