Health plan is generally acknowledged as the organization to commit at providing the delivery of predetermined health care benefits for a group of people. Simply, health plan is the list of health benefits covered by an organization for its employees. Two types of health plans were discovered to be in practice. Type 1 offers preset or packaged health plans that were put together by a Managed Care Organization (MCO). Meanwhile, Type 2 health plan was constructed by the hiring organization itself. Hence, providing exact mapping to the organization's employees' health requisites. However, storing Type 2 health plans within a single database introduces complexities. In this paper, we propose a physical model implementing a previously constructed semistructured data model which focuses on Outpatient Care medical service.
Managed Care Organization (MCO) has been adopted in Malaysia to act as a mediator between business organizations and health care providers. It's given the task to reconcile claims made by the providers for the medical services provided to the organizations' employees. Controlling MCOs' operations cost in processing claims is an ideal scenario targeted to manage the total cost which are borne by the organizations. Thus, allowing organizations to provide quality health plans to their employees. Health plan is the health benefits covered by an organization for its employees. This research has categorized health plans into two types and identified the existence of semistructured characteristics within the Type 2 health plan. A semistructured data model was constructed, focusing on outpatient care.
