Lymphocytes were grown in culture to which plasma from normal individuals and patients with carcinoma was added; the per cent transformation of lymphocytes measured. Plasma from patients with carcinoma appears to be capable of inhibiting in vitro lymphocyte transformation. T h e author suggests that this may b e one of the factors responsible for the anergy that occurs in these patients and may influence tumor growth.
