Structure, ontogeny, abundance, classification and taxonomic significance of foliar trichomes in 25 genera and 53 species of the Euphorbiaceae are presented. Seven main types and fourteen sub‐types of glandular and eglandular trichomes and stinging emergences are recorded. Inclusion of the genus Bridelia under the tribe Phyllantheae and exclusion of Dalechampia and Tragia from Acalypheae and placing in a separate subtribe Plukenetieae by Bentham & Hooker seems to be justified on the basis of trichome studies. Species‐wise distribution of trichomes is compiled in table 1. Table 2 shows the trichome types in different tribes of Bentham & Hooker.
Von 9 Gattungen und 12 Arten der Cucurbitaceae werden die Struktur, Ontogenie, Klassifikation und organographische Verbreitung der Trichome dargestellt. Es werden drüsige und nichtdrüsige vegetative und Blüten‐Trichome unterschieden. Insgesamt wurden 13 Hauptformen und 26 Subformen drüsiger und nichtdrüsiger Trichome beobachtet. Alle Trichomformen werden von einem einfachen papillösen Ausgangstyp abgeleitet. Die Trichome werden auf Grund der Form, der Struktur und der Größe eingeteilt.
