The spectrophotometric assay of 5,5'-(salicylidene)bis-(2-thiobarbituric acid), which shows interesting pharmacological perspectives, is proposed, Spektrornetrische Bestimmung der 5,5'-(Salicyliden)bis-(2-thiobarbitursaure) applying the conventional and differential photometries. The conventional photometry is developed at pH 4.00 (NaOAc-HOAc buffer). The differential photometry is realized for two series of pH (pH 10.5/13.5 and pH 2.0/10.5). A comparative study between the different photometries indicates a higher precision for the differential photometry in the event of pH 2.0/10.5.Es wird eine spektrometrische Bestimmung der 5,5'-(Salicyliden)bis-(2thiobarbitursaure), die interessante pharmakologische Perspektiven bietet, vorgeschlagen. Gravimetric and spectrophotometric methods for barbituric acids were the most utilized and accepted by organizations as AOAC, appearing as official methods in the different Pharmacopeias. At present spectrophotometric methods, together with the chromatographic ones, are used to a higher extent. They have the advantage of good accuracy and precision in general, and they are accesible, well studied and some of them are very fast methods. In this paper conventional and differential spectrophotometric determination of 5,5'-(salicylidene) bis-(2-thiobarbituric) acid (1) are proposed, which offers interesting pharmacological perspectives. The 5,5'-(salicylidene) bis-(barbituric) acid analogue has been assayed as a sympathomimetic agent on dogs, cats, rabbits and mice, showing an outstanding and long vasopressor effect; it causes an increase of the blood pressure of
A study on the content of several metallic ions and arsenic in Andalusian vinegars has been carried out.The technique employed was atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The measurements were performed directly in the samples. The determination of these ions is interesting since they can produce in certain amounts undesirable organoleptic effects or even make an attempt on the health (toxic elements). No kind of relevant contamination was found.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
