Four polypropylene (PP) film grade resins—homopolymer and copolymer—were used to evaluate the effects of various processing factors on the physical properties of cast film. The results showed that copolymer film (PP with 3% ethylene) has less of an effect on the processing parameters of the physical properties than the homopolymer PP film. In most runs, the melt flow rate (MFR) was the dominant factor—followed by melt temperature; chilling roll temperature appeared to have the least effect.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
