S U W YThe synthesis and analytical properties of 2-pyri1ideniminobenzohydroxamic acid (2-PIBHA) as well ar itr reactivity with inorganic ions are described. in rteel. Both methods were applied with sucess to the determination of vanadium(V)
The reaction of Ti(IV) with 2-pyrilideniminobenzohydroxamic acid (2-PIBHA) was st; died in aqueous medium and by using an extraction in isoamyl alcohol. The stoichiometries of the complexes formed are 1:l and 1:3 (Ti(1V):reagent) in both cases. The extraction and spectrophotometric determination of titanium with 2-PIBHA can be performed in a concentration range from 0.1 to 1.4 pg/ml of Ti(1V). The apparent m l a r absorptivity in isoamyl alcohol is 39600 1.mol-' .cm-' at 375 nm. The relative error of the method is + 0.64T for 25 ug of Ti(IV) in the aqueous phase (50 ml) and the extraction constant 1s 1 . 0 5~1 0~ .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
