S U M M A R YThirteen granular insecticides were screened under glasshouse conditions for their ability to kill the vector, Nephotettix virescens, and to prevent tungro virus infection. Carbofuran, bendiocarb, isoprocarb, BPMC, disulfoton, mephosfolan and phorate caused 100% vector mortality, but only the first four reduced virus infection to an acceptable level; the remainder killing the vector too slowly to prevent virus transmission. Seven of these compounds were evaluated in the field on two test cultivars, Traichung Native 1 and Pankaj. Carbofuran, isoprocarb and BPMC gave acceptable control of the disease on both cultivars and diazinon on cv. Pankaj only.
There have been three approaches to find the measures of fuzzy sets, which extend the count function for crisp sets. The first one is due to Deluca and Termini; second one a measure theoretic approach due to Zadeh and a bag theoretic approach due to Tripathy et al. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets are generalizations of fuzzy sets. So, efforts have been made recently to extend the above three approaches to find measures for cardinalities of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. The extension of the approach due to Deluca and Termini to the context of intuitionistic fuzzy sets by Tripathy et al [9]. In this paper, we define measures of intuitionistic fuzzy sets to define the count of an intuitionistic fuzzy set in the direction of Zadeh. Also, we establish several properties of these measures.
In earlier days, children used to play in outdoors with plant parts and their products for fun making and games. However with modernity and advancement in science and technology, this indigenous knowledge is vanishing day by day. There is no scientific documentation of plants being used for fun and games by children. The present study carried out in different tribal and non-tribal village schools of Koraput and Khordha districts of Odisha, India in a systematic manner documented 90 plant species distributed in 85 genera spread over 44 families. The plant species recorded include 35 trees, 21 shrubs, 24 herbs and 10 climbers/creepers. The plants widely used as play material include Artocarpus heterophyllus, Dendrocalamus strictus, Cocos nucifera, Calotropis gigantea, Ficus benghalensis, Mangifera indica, Musa paradisiaca, Phoenix sylvestris, Tamarindus indica, etc. The different plant parts such as leaves, fruits, flowers, seeds etc. and their mode of use by the participating respondents have been recorded and discussed. It was noted that the most and frequently used plant parts as the source of play were fruits followed by leaves, flowers, and seeds. The economic importance of plants, besides their implications in teaching and learning along with their sustainable utilization and conservation is discussed.
Abstract-The cardinality of fuzzy sets was introduced by DeLuca and termini, Zadeh and Tripathy et al, where the first one is a basic one, the second one is based on fuzzy numbers and the final one introduces a bag theoretic approach. The only approach to find the cardinality of an intuitionistic fuzzy set is due to Tripathy et al. In this paper, we introduce a bag theoretic approach to find the cardinality of intuitionistic fuzzy set, which extends the corresponding definition of fuzzy sets introduced by Tripathy et al. In fact three types of intuitionistic fuzzy counts are introduced and we also establish several properties of these count functions.
