Abstract:The risk rate of sugar beet growing was analyzed by using the algorithm for modelling and generating the random numbers based on the conditions determined in advance and the statistical distribution of sugar beets yield, the total costs, earnings and gross profit. on the bases of results of the analysis of economic risks of sugar beet production in years 1995-2009, it follows that the sugar beet growing in all regions is highly risky in the czech republic. The subsidy SAPS and ToP-UP per 1 hectare of sugar beet have a positive impact on its economics though not sufficient enough. in practice, it means that it is highly probable that the break-even point will not be achieved and thereby it is highly probable that the fixed costs are not covered and the update of machines is significantly limited. This happens mainly in the marginal regions. if the agricultural companies count on the separate sugar payment, the sugar beet growing is in all regions of the czech republic with acceptable risk.
Th e "boundary line analysis method" calculates the minimal total annual operational costs used for the optimisation of number of tractors owned by agricultural companies. Th is calculation refl ects the actual need of tractors used in the selected time periods during a year. Th e above method is based on data gained during fi ve day periods (so-called pentads) in t he plant production Farm Estate Lány which belongs to the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. Based on the annual use of tractors in the company, operational costs involve tractors owned and hired. Th e calculated curve changes in relation to the total annual costs for the owned tractors. Th e economically optimal number of the owned tractors would be reached at the minimum point where the total annual costs curve is low whilst all working operations in the company have been done. Due to the use of tractors during the pentads, it is recommended to own exactly the number of tractor-machine sets given by the calculated minimum. For all the other works, it is advisable to use hired tractors, operationally leased tractors or outsourced services.
For each new machine designed operational parameters exist and the realisation of these parameters determines the ability to perform the operations which it is designed for. It was proved both technically and practically that there is an impact of the using time of machines on the level of realisation of the operational parameters. based on a selective the statistic survey, the impact is analysed in the article of the using time of selected agricultural machines and tractors on the residual market price, repair costs, and the trend of annual utilisation. The outcome is a functional dependency of decreased residual market price, the growth of repair costs, and the trend of annual utilisation. The changes are presented by means of the proportions to the designed parameters and the outcomes can be used for the calculation of operational costs of the machines.
A number of variables influences potatoes growing, including natural conditions, used growing technologies and market conditions. The most important parameters for the production of potatoes crops are yield, farmer’s price, subsidies and costs. All these parameters can change over time. This means that managers of farms must constantly assess the key parameters affecting the economic outturn and analyse the degree of risk of their achievement. This article analyses the economic risks of potatoes cultivation based on statistical data obtained over the last 10 years. The Monte Carlo stochastic simulation method was used to analyse the risk of gross profits. The results of the calculations confirmed the considerable variability and risk of growing potatoes in the climate conditions of the Czech Republic in general, and especially regarding the first early potatoes and potatoes for starch production.
