The synthesis of the title compounds from 4BaO 2 :M 2 CO 3 :5Nb 2 O 5 (M: K, Na, Li) powder mixtures by mechanical treatment (planetary mill, 10-24 h) and subsequent annealings is monitored by powder XRD, thermal analysis, and SEM. The obtained samples transform to very crystalline powders by heating at temperatures as moderate as 600°C. Dielectric characterization shows that the substitution of K for Na or Li increases the dielectric permittivity and decreases both the dielectric loss factor and the ferro-paraelectric phase transition. This makes these ceramics good candidates for uses as high permittivity materials. -(KHACHANE, M.; MOURE, A.; ELAATMANI, M.; ZEGZOUTI, A.; DAOUD, M.; CASTRO*, A.; J.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
