The height of the reduction wave is proportional to the concentration of the nitrofuran compound. The logarithm of the heights was plotted against the time in a diagram of the type presented in Figure 1, from which per cent reduced compound after 1 hr reaction could be calculated. The values in Table I1 are the mean values with calculated 95% confidence limits assuming the same variation in measurements with all compounds. skilled technical assistance of Miss A. Notrman and Mr. 0. Hall (Chemistry), Mr. E. Johansson (Pharmacology), and Mrs. E. Olsson and Mrs. A. Enqvist (Microbiology). We also thank Dr. M. Ceska for help with the enzyme preparations and Messrs. R. Anderson and R. Lofstedt for performing the metabolic studies. We are grateful to Mr. A. Lanner for the administration of the clinical trials and to Mr. Goran Nilsson for help with the statistical calculations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
