The paper considers the export problem of the agro-industrial products of Russia. The research relevance lies in the competition conditions in the world food markets. The paper aims to study the impact of the development of exports of agricultural products on the stability of the Russian economy. Considering the strengthening of the position of agricultural products export in the structure of Russian exports, the paper aims to assess the problems and identify new opportunities for the development of agricultural products exports based on an analysis of its dynamics and structure. The authors applied the methods of economic-statistical analysis to identify patterns in the dynamics and structure of exports of agricultural products. During the research, the dynamics and structure of agricultural exports were analyzed. The authors also calculated the average export price for the enlarged product groups. They concluded that (1) the share of agricultural exports in the structure of Russian exports is growing and (2) that there is a need to increase its efficiency through government support measures. New opportunities for the export of agricultural products in the world market arise with (1) an increase of the competitiveness of products, (2) the development of new sales markets, (3) a stable position of exporters, (4) the efficient production of agricultural products by national producers. Currently, it is possible only if state support for export activities is combined with the initiatives of the agriculture entrepreneurs. The paper will be useful for regional and federal governments, the scientific community, and anyone interested in Russian export issues.
The paper focuses on the urgent problem caused by changes in the structure of Russian exports in the context of instability and negative dynamics of energy prices. The paper studies Russian exports of the main types of vegetable oils (sunflower, rapeseed, and soybean). The authors analyze the dynamics and product and territorial structures of exports for 2014-2019, relying on domestic and international data. The paper identifies current trends and assesses risks, opportunities, and prospects for domestic exporters. Based on the analysis and review of the secondary literature on the problems of exporting AIC products and trends in world food markets, the authors highlight the main threats for exporters of vegetable oils, focusing on the most capacious Asian markets. The research results may be of interest to the scientific community, students, and graduate students. The results can also be used when assessing export potentials of other member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, or when making managerial decisions on the structure and direction of exports, as well as on measures to support export activities.
The long-term competitiveness of national economies directly depends on their innovativeness. The paper analyzes a set of indicators measuring the impact of science and technology on national competitiveness. Among the indicators analyzed are the number and type of enterprises engaged in R&D, the volume of budget funding of science, and the number of developed and used advanced production technologies. Emphasizing the differences between the sustainable state and sustainable development, the authors discuss the need and practicality of supporting innovations to ensure the sustainable development of the Russian economy and the integration of goals of innovation and sustainable development. The reasoning of conclusions and proposals is based on official statistics and understanding of most critical aspects in scientific and technological development.

The research problem is related to the necessity and complexity of achieving the UN sustainable development goal in the context of ensuring food security and improving nutrition; the goals of increasing the volume of exports of products of the agro-industrial complex, set by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 07.05.2018 No. 204 “On national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024”. In the work, the authors investigated the category of “quality” of food and analyzed the impact of the transformation of the category of “quality of food” on the prospects for growth in the volume of supplies to the national and world markets of agricultural products, reflects the problems of ensuring the competitiveness of food raw materials and products of plant origin in the world market. Based on the methods of quantitative analysis, an assessment is made of the possibilities of increasing the competitiveness of foodstuffs, improving the quality characteristics of food products in accordance with the requirements of the national market and the largest importers as a factor in increasing demand for products of the agro-industrial complex of Russia. The authors identified the problems of increasing the export potential by improving the quality characteristics and considered the economic conditions for their implementation. The research results will expand the boundaries of scientific knowledge regarding the impact of food quality on the competitiveness and export opportunities of producers.
