Acne agminata is a papulo-pustular eruption typically affecting the face of young adults and characterized histologically by the presence of caseating granulomata in the dermis. We now describe two adults who developed the condition in the axillae.
Amelanotic lentigo maligna melanoma is rare, only 10 cases over the face having been reported to date in the English literature. In none of these was the diagnosis suspected clinically, being made in all cases only after histopathological examination. We now report an unusual additional case of this uncommon lesion, which quickly progressed from an amelanotic lentigo maligna to an invasive melanoma in a short space of time, and review the literature concerning this condition.
A patient is described with histopathological features in keeping with a diagnosis of Dowling Degos disease but with some unusual clinical features. Other members of the family are similarly affected.
Summary.We report a patient with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and genetic haemochromatosis. The patient was shown by the polymerase chain reaction to be homozygous for the Cys282Tyr mutation of the HFE gene. Liver biopsy showed micronodular cirrhosis and the presence of an iron-free focus which was thought to be pre-neoplastic.
