The densities, viscosities and ultrasonic velocities of binary liquid mixtures of Isopropyl alcohol with acetophenone and methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) have been measured at temperatures 298.15 and 308.15 K over the entire range of mole fraction. From these data, acoustical parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), free volume (V f ) and free length (L f ) have been estimated using the standard relations. The results are interpreted in terms of molecular interactions present in the mixtures.
Spectrophotometric method for determination of Cu(II) in the trace quantities was developed by using piperazine as ligand in ammonium acetate medium. The Procedure developed was applied for the estimation Cu(II) in microgram quantities in the samples of alloys and the method was found to be simple, rapid and comparable to routine analytical methods for trace level analysis of metal ions in environmental samples in any laboratory where sophisticated and expensive instruments are not available. UV visible spectrophotometer is cost effective and available in almost all laboratories. The complexes of piperazine in aqueous solutions are not reported so far and this is the first attempt in this area of spectrophotometric analysis.
Investigation on the molecular interactions between binary mixtures containing diethyl carbonate in combination with nitrobenzene, chlorobenzene and aniline is presented. Ultrasonic velocity and density values were determined for the individual components as well as binary mixtures of the above benzene derivatives with diethyl carbonate at temperatures (293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, 313.15, 318.15 and 323.15) K over the entire composition range. Further, adiabatic compressibility and acoustic impedance values were calculated using the experimental results. In addition to these parameters, the excess parameters like excess adiabatic compressibility, excess acoustic impedance and deviation in ultrasonic velocity were also obtained. Based on all these results, molecular interactions among the selected components were discussed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
