ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF EDUCATOR WITH EXTENSION IN THE DISTRICT MINAHASA. Extension workers has a strategic role in improving the welfare of farmers / ranchers. One of the factors that influence the success of the extension duties is the state socio-economic background or socio-economic characteristics of each extension. However, the extent of the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics with the implementation of the extension in Minahasa unknown. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of these characteristics with the execution of tasks with good extension. This study uses survey data collection on respondents extension and analyzed descriptively. The collected data are presented in tables cross between variables (education and experience) were observed and analyzed by looking at the distribution Trends. The results showed that the factor of higher education Bachelor (S1) tend to be better than not on the Bachelor in execution of duty. On the other hand experience of long-serving and who have served a long time showed relatively recent trend duty (< 20 years) is better than the longtime (> 20 years). As a conclusion that the social and economic characteristics based on the educational background related to the implementation of the tasks. THE PROSPECT OF BEEF CATLE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENTIN EAST BOLANGITANG DISTRICT, NORTH BOLAANG MONGONDOW REGENCY The purpose of this research was to find out the potential resources on beef cattle industry development in East Bolangitangdistrict, North Bolaang Mongondow regency. Survey method (questionnaire) was used in order to get primary and secondary data, from June until July, 2015. All the data taken were then analyzed using SWOT and Land Carrying Capacity analysis, as well as descriptive analysis. It was found in this research that, the maximum potency of livestock units based on dry land, savannah and swampland (wetland) resources amounted to 8.879 ST (Satuan Ternak). ANALYSIS OF FARMERS' PERCEPTIONS TOWARD THE ROLE OF COUNSELING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF PIG FARMING ON AGRIBUSINESS IN GIWAN VILLAGE, TIOM DISTRICT, LANNY JAYA REGENCY. The objective of this study was to determine farmer’s perceptons toward the role of agricultural extension agents in the development of pig livestock agribusiness for breeder’s in Giwan Village, Tiom District, Lanny Jaya Regency. This study used a survey method. Sample of group breeder wasdetermined by purposive sampling and sample of breeders was selected by simple random sampling method. The results of the study showed that: (1) Most pig farmers in Giwan village had good or high perceptions of extension workers in their roles as educators (80%), still have moderate as consultants (75%), as motivators (75%), and as organizers (80%) of farmers in providing counseling in Giwan village. The conclusion of this research was farmers in Giwan village have good perceptions of extension workers in their roles as educators, motivators, and as organizers of farmers in managing pigs' business.Keywords: Agribusiness, Pig Farm, Extension, Giwan.
ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTION FACTOR UTILIZATION AT LAYING HEN FARMS (CASE STUDIES AT UD. KAKASKASEN INDAH AND CV. NAWANUA FARM). Laying hen farm can support the government program due to its prominence in egg productivity. The problem that must be evaluated were how much the profit in one period of production gained and how many the scale of laying hen farm to reach the break event point. The laying hen farms used in this study were UD. Kakaskasen Indah and CV. Kawanua Farm. The objectives of this study were to evaluate utilization of production factor, profit level and break event point. Research was conducted by survey method. Data were collected based on field observation and direct discussion with the owners of laying hen farms. Results showed that both laying hen farms had the largest production costs of 69.44% for animal feeding on CV. Kawanua Farm and 76.66% for animal feeding on UD. Kakaskasen Indah. Analysis of profit level on CV. Kawanua Farm were Rp. 5,247,257,316 per production period with farm scale of 21,000 heads of animals per production period. The BEP were Rp. 209,297,896 for 10,956 heads of animals, with MOS of 94.36% and ROI of 1.78. Analysis of profit level on UD. Kakaskasen Indah were Rp. 17,523,288,446 per production period with farm scale of 60,000 heads of animals per production period. The BEP were Rp. 517,417,088 for 24,851 heads of animals, with MOS of 96.38% and ROI of 1.25. Results of analysis showed that both laying hen farms were using the capital efficiently as indicated by profitable values of MOS and ROI above the break event point. FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OF DAIRY CATTLE FARM IN TOMOHON CITY (CASE STUDY AT THE RAMULU SANGKOR FARMER GROUP). Study was conducted to analyze feasibility of the Ramulu Sangkor farmer group in Tomohon city. Study was implemented using survey method in the case study of the farm. Data were taken directly to thefarmer as primary data and taken from related institution as secondary data. Survey was done for March to April 2015. Data were analyzed using infestation criteria analysis including NPV, BC Ratio, IRR, ROI and profit analysis. Results showed that total investment were IDR 721.599.633/year and total receipt were IDR 951.217.667/year, of selling milk product and biogas. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Ramulu Sangkor farmer group was feasibly operated with NPV of IDR 448,929,526.-; BC Ratio of 2.880; IRR of 50.05, ROI of 41.82 and profit value of IDR 229.618.034.- for one months.
