Multilayered oblique-evaporated tapes have been developed which have higher residual magnetization with high coercivity, and can exhibit excellent recording characteristics in comparison with single-layered tapes.A double-layered model is considered as a simple case of multilayered oblique-evaporated tapes. The magnetic structure of this model was calculated in the condition of the minimization of its magnetic energy on the basis of the coherent rotation model including interlayer interactions. Through this analysis, it was found that the multilayered tape of this model can achieve high saturation magnetization with holding high coercivity by the interlayer interaction, even in a state of high column angle. It is understood that the multilayered tape has more excellent recording characteristics over a wide frequency range than single-layered tape through this results.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
